The Royal Ascot 2019

Every summer, members of the British royal family attend the famous Royal Ascot, which is a horse race. This year, some of the members of the royal family that went included the Queen, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Princess Anne, and Zara Tindall. Also, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands were in attendance. Notably absent were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who were most likely at home with their a little more than a month old son Archie.

In terms of style, the Queen opted for her usual monochromatic look with a blue coat and hat. The Duchess of Cambridge also donned a pleated pale blue dress and fascinator of the same shade to match. Princess Beatrice also wore an all pale blue attire with a wide brimmed blue hat with pink, blue, and yellow tassels. Zara Tindall also joined in the blue fascinator trend, pairing her fascinator with a black dress with a large flowered pattern. Princess Eugenie kept herself within the blue realm but decided to wear a more darker turquoise dress with a yellow fascinator.

But, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands's fascinator was perhaps the most over the top. It matched her beige pink dress and consisted of beige pink leaves that cascaded down the side of her face. It is an extremely interesting design that you can see, along with all the other royal outfits, in a well put together slideshow by Harper's Bazaar here.

The fashion takeaway: Pale blue was a commonly worn color this year at Ascot among royal women.

The Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!

First things first, Meghan's dress was gorgeous. It was simple, elegant, and stunning. The second thing is, the fasinators were amazing! But, before I get into that, let's start at the beginning. This is how I viewed the wedding. 4:00 am - Turned on the television. At this point, people had not started to arrive yet, and it was mainly reporters speculating about Meghan's dress. 4:30 to 5:00 am - People started to come, mainly aristocrats, Hollywood stars, and friends of Harry and Meghan, including Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams, and Prince Harry's ex Chelsy Davy. Reporters also interviewed people who had charities that Harry and Meghan supported. Sometime after that, (I lost track of the time,) some more celebrities and aristocrats came, including the Middletons, the Beckhams and the Clooneys, as well as some more actresses. Then, the royal family began to arrive. The first royal that I saw was Zara Tindall, who is  pregnant with her second child, who is due v...

Princess Diana

Today marks the 20th anniversary of Diana, Princess of Wales's death. This is a very sad occasion so in the comments bar below, you are free to write where you were when you heard of Princess Diana's death and other memories you had of the beloved Princess Diana.      Image by Rick.

A Clarifying Answer to a Frequently Asked Question

A frequently asked question about Meghan Markle is: "Will Meghan Markle be Princess Meghan?" The answer is no. Meghan Markle will not be a Princess, just like Princess Kate. Now wait, you are probably thinking: "But, isn't Princess Kate a princess?" The answer to this is simple. While the media calls Catherine Middleton "Princess Kate" and I refer to her as Princess Kate, it is not her real title. Princess Kate's (or should I say, Catherine Middleton's) royal title given to her is Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Right now, at the moment, the predicted title for Meghan Markle is Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. On the other hand Princess Beatrice is actually a princess born with the title Princess Beatrice of York.
