The Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!

First things first, Meghan's dress was gorgeous. It was simple, elegant, and stunning. The second thing is, the fasinators were amazing! But, before I get into that, let's start at the beginning. This is how I viewed the wedding.

4:00 am - Turned on the television. At this point, people had not started to arrive yet, and it was mainly reporters speculating about Meghan's dress.

4:30 to 5:00 am - People started to come, mainly aristocrats, Hollywood stars, and friends of Harry and Meghan, including Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams, and Prince Harry's ex Chelsy Davy. Reporters also interviewed people who had charities that Harry and Meghan supported.

Sometime after that, (I lost track of the time,) some more celebrities and aristocrats came, including the Middletons, the Beckhams and the Clooneys, as well as some more actresses.

Then, the royal family began to arrive. The first royal that I saw was Zara Tindall, who is  pregnant with her second child, who is due very soon. Then, more royals began to appear, including Peter Phillips and his wife Autumn, Princess Anne and Timothy Lawrence, the Wessexes, and, the princesses who's fasinator's we've been dying to see, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. While some people were disappointed in their more simple fascinators, I thought that they went very nicely with their dresses, both of which where blue. The Queen wore a bright green coat and hat, accompanied by Prince Philip who was recovering from a recent surgery.

Prince Harry arrived with his best man and big brother Prince William. The brothers shared a moment when Prince William, seeing that Prince Harry was visibly a bit nervous, spoke to him.

The second that Meghan Markle left the hotel she was staying at, cameras were trying to get a view of her dress through the tinted car windows. We could see that she was wearing her hair in an bun with her veil, and her dress had long sleeves. But, when she got out of the car, we all saw her beautiful wedding gown, which was a simple white gown with a long lace train. The bride went halfway down the isle by herself, and the rest of the way with her father in-law, Prince Charles, the whole time accompanied by her bridesmaids and pageboys. One of my favorite pageboy moments was when the boy who was carrying her train entered the church, his jawn dropped in awe.

The ceremony which was very long and included vowes, "I do"s and lots of emotion from Meghan Markle's mother Doria, ended with a kiss on the front steps of the church and a carriage parade around the town of Windsor.

My only thing is that I wish they had mentioned or made some acknowledgement of Diana, his mother. Though overall, it was a beautiful day and a romantic wedding with beautiful weather. I wish the couple a long and happy marriage.

I celebrated the wedding by decorating a cake for Meghan Harry, as well as waking up ridiculously early to watch the entire thing.

What did you do to celebrate the wedding?

  1. I also loved it when Prince Charles took Doria's hand when they walked out to sign the Ketubah-like thing. I liked that he took care of her when she was emotional about her little girl.

  2. What a brilliant recap. I'm not one who typically loves such pageantry, but in this case and for all the scenes you say here, I loved the pageantry!

  3. Such a good summary. I watched it all, and I loved ALL the dresses. Meghan was so poised - regal, already!

I love your cake too. I bet it tasted good!

Royal Corgi Information

Queen Elizabeth II is not only in love with corgis! If you thought that Queen Elizabeth strictly only owns corgis, you are wrong. But, corgis are the dog of the royal monarchy. In fact, three of her corgis had a part of the opening ceremony at the London Olympics back in 2012. Three other cool facts to know about the Queen's corgis are: Her love of corgis began as a child when her dad, George VI bought the family a corgi named Dookie. Most of her corgis common ancestor is Susan, who was the Queen's eighteenth birthday present.  Susan the corgi came with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip on their honeymoon. But the Queen does not limit herself to one breed of dogs! She has also owned labradors, a golden retriever, a cocker spaniel , and a shih tzu. The Queen has also been known to breed dorgis, which are a dachshund corgi mix which sound so cute! I got my information from the book Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family

The Royal Ascot 2019

Every summer, members of the British royal family attend the famous Royal Ascot, which is a horse race. This year, some of the members of the royal family that went included the Queen, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Princess Anne, and Zara Tindall. Also, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands were in attendance. Notably absent were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who were most likely at home with their a little more than a month old son Archie. In terms of style, the Queen opted for her usual monochromatic look with a blue coat and hat. The Duchess of Cambridge also donned a pleated pale blue dress and fascinator of the same shade to match. Princess Beatrice also wore an all pale blue attire with a wide brimmed blue hat with pink, blue, and yellow tassels. Zara Tindall also joined in the blue fascinator trend, pairing her fascinator with a black dress with a large flowered pattern. Princess Eugenie kept herself within the blue r
