Princess Kate's Henna Tattoo

Princess Kate is seven months pregnant, which means approximately two more months until baby no.3 is born. But that doesn't stop Princess Kate from going out and about, and getting a tattoo! Okay, it's a henna tattoo, which will only last a few days, but still, very impressive. For those who do not know, a henna tattoo is a temporary tattoo made of ink from plants, or as Dictionary.com puts it, " a reddish-orange dye or cosmetic made from the leaves of this plant."   Princess Kate also donned a hard hat, and went to see a newly built bridge, which will benefit many people. In Sweden though, Princess Sofia, wife of Prince Carl Philip, competed in the largest woman's skiing competition (not the Olympics). Her two children, Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel cheered her on.  Princess Kate image by British High Commission, New Delhi Princess Sofia image by  Frankie Fouganthin People Magazine and People Magazine

Lady Louise Windsor's Injury

Lady Louise Windsor, the oldest and only daughter of the Earl and Countess of Wessex, as well as the Queen's youngest granddaughter, has broken her leg while skiing on vacation with her parents and younger brother James, Viscount Severn. Lady Louise is fourteen years old and is most well known for being a bridesmaid at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding in 2011. She also rode a horse at one of the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations. I wish for Lady Louise a quick recovery, and to be back on her feet soon.   Image by John Pannell Information from People Magazine

Royal Family A to Z

Not to long ago, I was flipping through a People Magazine A to Z issue about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and I have gotten inspired to make an A to Z too, except I am going include the whole entire royal family, not just Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. A is for Princess Alice of Battenberg, Prince Philip's mother. B is for Bertie, a nickname used by family for Queen Elizabeth's father, King George VI. C is for the Cambridges, William, Catherine, George, Charlotte, and soon to be baby no.3! D is for Diana, Princess of Wales. E is for Elizabeth, the Queen.  F is for Fergie, Prince Andrew's former wife. G is for George, an heir to the throne. H is for Harry, Prince of Wales. I is for Isla Phillips, one of the Queen's grandchildren. J is for Jack Brooksbank, the husband to be of Princess Eugenie. K is for King, and England has had many notable kings. L is for Louise, Queen Elizabeth's second youngest grandchild. M is for Meghan Markle, a soon t

A Creepy Coincidence

A morbid event in British royal history just happens to be the same day as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's magical wedding day. Anne Boleyn's execution. If you didn't already know, Anne Boleyn was King Henry VIII's second wife. Also, if you didn't already know, King Henry VIII had six wives. And, if you didn't already know, (yes I know, I've used the phrase " Also, if you didn't already know" three times) Anne Boleyn was Queen Elizabeth I mother. Is this some totally random coincidence, or a purposefully planned date? I don't know, but, I cannot wait for the wedding day! Yes, Royals Are Active!

Yes, Royals can be very active. But recently, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden proved how athletic she is. She did the difficult task of running up and down stairs in the palace in heels. Now, usually we do not run around our homes in high heels for no good reason, and neither does Crown Princess Victoria. She ran in support of Swedish campaign App & Hoppa Sverige, which encourages activeness, athleticism and taking care of yourself, causes that are very important to the Crown Princess and her husband, Prince Daniel, as well as the rest of the Swedish Royal Family. To find out who they are, look here . To see Princess Victoria run amazingly up and down stairs in her palace, click here .   Image by Frankie Fouganthin Information by  People Magazine

The Scoop on the Royal Wedding

Buckingham Palace has released a lot of information about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding which is  slowly approaching. I am going to share some of the key important times, and events to remember. The service will begin at 12:00 in the United Kingdom, which is 7 o'clock in the morning for Eastern time, and 4 o'clock in the morning for Pacific Standard time. (Those of you on Pacific Standard time will be getting up really really early!) The bride and groom will start their carriage procession at 8 o'clock Eastern time or 5 o'clock in the morning Pacific Standard time, leaving room for a precisely hour long service, assuming there are no delays and everything happens on the dot. Since the wedding is taking place in Windsor, there will be no balcony kiss, but they will ride through Windsor Town. If you, reader of this blogpost happen to live in Windsor Town, I hope you get to see them! The reception will take place at Windsor Castle. Then, that night P

Royals and the Olympics

The Winter Olympics have started! Yes, the British Royal Family does have a royal at the Olympics, and who better than to send Princess Anne, who is the mother of Summer Olympian, equestrian, and member of the Royal Family, Zara Tindall. Zara Tindall participated in the 2012 London Summer Olympics, and is not the first Olympian in her family. Her father, Mark Phillips, was also an Olympian.    A royal who was supposed to be attending the Winter Olympics was Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, had to rush home due to Prince Henrik's health worsening. I will keep you updated on the Prince's condition. Princess Charlene of Monaco was also an Olympian, but in the Summer Olympics. She was a swimmer for South Africa.   Enjoy the Winter Olympics!!! Princes William and Harry's Step Siblings

Did you know that Prince William and Prince Harry have step siblings from Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall's first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles. The step siblings are Tom Parker Bowles, age 43, and Laura Lopes age 40. Laura's daughter Eliza was a bridesmaid to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Laura will most certainly be attending Prince Harry's wedding to Meghan Markle, though if she has a role in the wedding is undetermined and unlikely. You may remember Laura Lopes from the wedding picture for the Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles in which she is wearing a blue coat, which you can see here . What Are Some Nicknames for the Queen?

Yes, I have been on a 4 day streak of having my posts be about Queen Elizabeth. But I can't help it! She's such an interesting amazing royal. Today, I am going to share with you some nicknames her family has for her.    Image by Aaron McCracken/Harrisons Let's start when  she was child. Growing up, her family endearingly called her Lilibet. Image uncredited on the cover of Time Magazine  The Queen was known as Shirley Temple by her uncle, the Duke of Windsor, a fact made popular from Season 1 of the Netflix Original, The Crown. Note: This was not a loving or endearing nickname. Prince Philip, her husband of 70 years has been known to call her Cabbage.   Image by Carfax2  By her grandchildren, she has been called Granny.   Image by Archives New Zealand from New Zealand And, it has been told that Prince George calls her Gran Gran.      Image by The White House from Washington, DC Information from  here , Hello Magazine.  Information also ga

So, Do You Want To Be Like Queen Elizabeth?

Do you, or someone you love want to be like Queen Elizabeth? Lucky for you, I have some things you can do to be like Queen Elizabeth!! Here are 5 things you can do. 1. Try out Queen Elizabeth's favorite nail polish, which is easy to purchase. It is an Essie color called "Ballet Slippers". You can look at it  here. 2. Learn to speak French. Queen Elizabeth speaks fluent French. I recommend using Duolingo, which can teach you some basic vocabulary. If you're still in school, take a French class! 3. Wear bright colors. The Queen is well known for wearing brightly colored coats. If you want to go all out, wear a string of pearls everyday. 4. Make and eat one of Queen Elizabeth's favorite cakes, Chocolate Biscuit Cake. To see a video of a person making Chocolate Biscuit cake, click  here . 5. Carry a handbag. Queen Elizabeth always carries a handbag and not only is it for fashion, but she also uses it to send signals to people. Image of Queen Elizabe

Late With The News

Sorry that I am a day or two late delivering news, but please enjoy these two late news stories featuring two of my favorite royals. Yes, even Princess Kate can get her high heel stuck in a grate. Yesterday morning, Princess Kate was visiting a new addiction treatment center when her black stiletto heel got stuck in a grate in the ground. But, as we all know, Princess Kate was able to gracefully remove her shoe from the grate. To see People Magazine's pictures and cover of the story, click here . Also, speaking of late news, February 6th was Queen Elizabeth's ascension to the throne, the day her father died from lung cancer and the princess became the Queen. Queen Elizabeth found out she was Queen when she was on tour in Kenya. Her coronation was held on June 2nd 1953, when she was just 25 years old. A Royal Get Together

Recently, on a four day trip to Sweden and Norway, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got together with two foreign royal couples. In Sweden, they met with Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel. Princess Kate wore an elegant green coat and black fur hat, while Crown Princess Victoria wore a grey coat with a fur lining and purple gloves and clutch. Both Prince William and Prince Daniel wore warm blue coats. Prince William also wore a blue and red scarf, while Prince Daniel wore a grey scarf.   Image by Frankie Fouganthin   In Norway, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met up with Crown Prince Haakon and Princess  Mette-Marit of Norway. This was the second part of their trip. Princess Kate donned a light blue coat perfect for the occasion. Image by Kronprinsparets Fond
