Royals and ... Barbie?

Royals are becoming a huge part in popular culture, especially the British Royal Family. Ever since Queen Elizabeth became Queen, the royal family has been modernizing itself to keep up with the ever changing world. But who knew that there are royal Barbies? Well, if you did, I didn't until recently when I took a trip to Montreal, Canada. Canada, is part of the Commonwealth, and the royals do make frequent visits to Canada. William and Kate went to Canada in 2016. But, in Montreal, Canada, you can find an amazing thing, the world's largest permanent Barbie doll expo. In this exhibit, you can find Barbie dolls of three famous royals.

The first famous royals on display are:

Prince William and Princess Kate!
Yes, while this is not the most accurate representation of the beloved Princess Kate, it is still really gorgeous and the dress is quite accurate to her real wedding dress. As for Prince William, the outfit is super close to the real one. Overall, extremely spectacular to see!

My third royal Barbie guest has two Barbie dolls on display, and is not in the British royal family. It is...

Grace Kelly!

First things first, the dress is beautiful! I feel that Grace Kelly is well represented in this Barbie doll. The outfit is very Grace-ish, and really conveys the character of Grace Kelly.

Close up of Grace Kelly:

It really does look a lot like her! But, Grace Kelly is so lucky and gets to have two Barbie dolls on display. You can also see her wedding dress!

Unfortunately, I am not extremely tall, and since the doll was on the highest display case, the doll is quite hard to see in the picture. To see what the doll looks like, click here . It is definitely worth checking out!

Maybe, when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry get married, Barbie will make a wedding doll. It is definitely worth looking for!

So, if you ever find yourself in Montreal, come to the Barbie expo! It's really fun!

The Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!

First things first, Meghan's dress was gorgeous. It was simple, elegant, and stunning. The second thing is, the fasinators were amazing! But, before I get into that, let's start at the beginning. This is how I viewed the wedding. 4:00 am - Turned on the television. At this point, people had not started to arrive yet, and it was mainly reporters speculating about Meghan's dress. 4:30 to 5:00 am - People started to come, mainly aristocrats, Hollywood stars, and friends of Harry and Meghan, including Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams, and Prince Harry's ex Chelsy Davy. Reporters also interviewed people who had charities that Harry and Meghan supported. Sometime after that, (I lost track of the time,) some more celebrities and aristocrats came, including the Middletons, the Beckhams and the Clooneys, as well as some more actresses. Then, the royal family began to arrive. The first royal that I saw was Zara Tindall, who is  pregnant with her second child, who is due v...

It's A Boy!!!!

Prince Harry has announced that they will share the name as a family in two days time. I am personally delighted with the news and will keep you posted. -Alverdine

Royal Travels: Costuming The Crown

I recently went to the exhibit Costuming The Crown, at Winterthur, the estate of the du Pont family in Delaware, United States. While Delaware may seem like an unlikely place for royal happenings, it currently houses an exhibit with approximately 40 costumes and props from the award winning Netflix television show, The Crown. Yes, you read that correctly. You can currently view costumes and props from The Crown at the Winterthur Museum in Delaware. Some of the most impressive and iconic costumes on display are... 1. Queen Elizabeth's Coronation Gown 2. Prince Philip's Uniform 3. Queen Mary of Teck's Dress 4. Queen Elizabeth's Black Coat (When she gets off the plane in season 1, episode 2) 5. Queen Elizabeth's Wedding Dress 6. Princess Margaret's Wedding Dress 7. Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret's Ballgowns (The two on t...
