Two Royal Queens, That Wait! Are Cousins!

If you did not already know, most of the European royal families are interconnected and in some distant way, are all related to each other. For instance Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are cousins (you can read more about that in my blog post here). But the Queen has a cousin who is the Queen of her own country take a guess on who you think this cousin is.

Is it...

a. Queen Maxima of the Netherlands

b. Queen Letizia of Spain

c. Queen Margrethe of Denmark

d. Queen Silvia of Sweden

If you guessed d, you are wrong! Queen Silvia and all these monarchs except one listed above are related to Queen Elizabeth by marriage.

The real answer is c, and in fact, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Margrethe are 3rd cousins! Their common relative is Christian IX, who was the King of Denmark. His son, Frederick VIII, is who continued down the royal Denmark line of succession, and his daughter, Alexandra of Denmark, married Edward VII, and is Queen Elizabeth's great grandmother. That is how the royal families are really just one huge family, that rule over different countries. Kind of weird, right?

The Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!

First things first, Meghan's dress was gorgeous. It was simple, elegant, and stunning. The second thing is, the fasinators were amazing! But, before I get into that, let's start at the beginning. This is how I viewed the wedding. 4:00 am - Turned on the television. At this point, people had not started to arrive yet, and it was mainly reporters speculating about Meghan's dress. 4:30 to 5:00 am - People started to come, mainly aristocrats, Hollywood stars, and friends of Harry and Meghan, including Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams, and Prince Harry's ex Chelsy Davy. Reporters also interviewed people who had charities that Harry and Meghan supported. Sometime after that, (I lost track of the time,) some more celebrities and aristocrats came, including the Middletons, the Beckhams and the Clooneys, as well as some more actresses. Then, the royal family began to arrive. The first royal that I saw was Zara Tindall, who is  pregnant with her second child, who is due v...

Princess Diana

Today marks the 20th anniversary of Diana, Princess of Wales's death. This is a very sad occasion so in the comments bar below, you are free to write where you were when you heard of Princess Diana's death and other memories you had of the beloved Princess Diana.      Image by Rick.

A Clarifying Answer to a Frequently Asked Question

A frequently asked question about Meghan Markle is: "Will Meghan Markle be Princess Meghan?" The answer is no. Meghan Markle will not be a Princess, just like Princess Kate. Now wait, you are probably thinking: "But, isn't Princess Kate a princess?" The answer to this is simple. While the media calls Catherine Middleton "Princess Kate" and I refer to her as Princess Kate, it is not her real title. Princess Kate's (or should I say, Catherine Middleton's) royal title given to her is Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Right now, at the moment, the predicted title for Meghan Markle is Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. On the other hand Princess Beatrice is actually a princess born with the title Princess Beatrice of York.
