Lovers Knot Tiara: The History Behind It

The Lovers Knot Tiara was the late Princess Diana's favorite tiara, now frequently worn by Princess Kate, has an amazing history. It is bit over hundred years old and was most recently worn by Princess Kate at a state banquet at Buckingham Palace this week on Wednesday. This tiara is special because it is part of the royal family's private collection. It's current owner is Queen Elizabeth II. The tiara was originally Queen Mary's and is a replica of a 200 year old Gothic Revival tiara which belonged to Queen Mary's  grandmother, Princess Augusta of Hesse, the Duchess of Cambridge. The original tiara was auctioned of for $747,000 in current dollars. The bidder was anonymous. When Queen Mary died, she gave it to her granddaughter, the Queen who wore it to formal events in the 1950s. She then loaned it to Princess Diana as a wedding present. Royal Wedding Held Hostage

A royal wedding is currently being held hostage by the Prince's father.  Prince Ernst-August of Hanover, the stepson of Princess Caroline of Monaco is going to marry Ekaterina Malysheva who is Russian, but was raised Czech. The wedding is supposed to be a televised as a huge religious ceremony with ten days of festivities. But the Prince's father, Prince Ernst-August V formally announced that he opposed the marriage because he wants his castles back, including family property that was deeeded to his son between 2004-2006.  Prince Ernst-Augustus Jr. and Ekaterina Malysheva have been dating for eight years, and got engaged in Greece this past year. The bride's wedding dress has been announced to the public months ago.  Prince Ernst-August Sr.'s feelings on the issue is that he against the marriage because he is motivated by his desire to keep his family property and preserve them. Grace the Danish Canine Royal

Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom is not the only royal to have adorable dogs. Princess Mary of Denmark just welcomed a new dog to the Danish Royal Family. In April, Princess Mary's old dog Ziggy passed away in April. But last weekend Princess Mary and her husband Crown Prince Frederik welcomed their new dog to the family. The dog is a border collie named Grace. The Prince and Princess along with their four children welcomed Grace to Grasten Palace and their children, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine where delighted by the presence of the newest arrival to their family. The Danish royal palace posted photos on Instagram and wrote the following: "Yesterday the Crown Prince family welcomed their new dog Grace at Grasten Castle.
